fredokiss, born Fredo Penjani Kalua on March 28, 1986, is a multifaceted personality carving a unique path in Malawi's cultural and political landscape. Hailing from a prominent political family, Fredokiss is the son of Kamlepo Kalua, a seasoned politician and current Member of Parliament for Rumphi East.

Growing up alongside his twin sister Hilda, Fredokiss emerged as the youngest member of a family of four. His academic journey began at Chirimba Primary School, leading him to Chichiri Secondary School. Fredokiss later pursued higher education at Chancellor College, graduating with a BA in SocialSciences with distinction in 2009. His academic prowess extended to a Diploma in Insurance and a recent Masters in Public Health from Wits University.
Fredokiss's commitment to education goes beyond his personal achievements. As the Founder of the Fredokiss Scholarship, he actively contributes to the education of vulnerable students, embodying his dedication to social change.
In the music realm, Fredokiss, also known as the "Ghetto Angel," made a significant impact with hits like 'Woza' and 'Basi.'
He is recognized as the first Malawian rapper to secure ambassadorship deals with NBS Bank, UNICEF, the British Commission (Champion against international wildlife crimes), UNDP, and Malawi Blood Transfusion.
Not confined to the stage, Fredokiss is the Co-founder and President of League for Change, a charitable organization, and serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Ghetto Gutter Entertainment, a record label fostering local talent. His influence in the music industry extends to hosting Ghetto Shows across all regions of Malawi, attracting massive crowds.
Fredokiss's philanthropic endeavors extend to initiatives like the Ghetto Shoulder Initiative, reflecting his commitment to addressing social issues. His role in the 2021 Walk of Love fundraiser showcased his dedication to supporting veteran musicians like Sir Lucius Bandah.
The rapper's political journey has been marked by both triumph and challenges. In 2019, he contested the parliamentary elections for Blantyre City South, finishing second out of eight candidates. However, in 2020, he faced legal issues when accused of distributing money on voting day in Rumphi, ultimately being acquitted due to a lack of government witnesses.
